In either 1958 or 1959 we lived on a place down the road towards Centerville from the old Adkins place. One of Cecil's older brothers brought him down and dropped him off with just a backpack and his bow and arrows. He headed off into the woods and stayed gone for three straight days just living off the land. I think he stayed by the creek on the old slew not to far from Highway 7.
